For example extending a property may not be the best way to add value if it reduces the size of the garden to a disproportionate level with the property.

Renovate the bathroom – A bathroom is one of the most common renovations people undertake once they purchase a property. If the bathroom has been recently renovated a potential buyer will view this as less expenditure required which increases the properties purchase value and appeal.
Kitchen Renovation – Very much like a bathroom a kitchen is a space that is renovated by people that have recently purchased a property. Kitchens have become social spaces over the past decade or two and as a result of this change a kitchen being up to date and large enough to seat friends and family is a certain way to add value.
Landscape the Front Garden – Curb appeal has always been an important factor in a properties value. People want to be proud of their property when family and friends come to visit and so a well cared for garden can make all the difference to a properties value.
Increase Storage Space – Everybody needs a place to keep the Christmas tree for 10-11 months of year (depending on how much you love Christmas). Storage is seen as a big issue when there clearly isn’t enough of it. Families need a place to try and divide the chaos from the relaxing living spaces.
Replace Radiators & Electrical Points – People often look at the electrical points and radiators as an indicator of how well a property has been cared for. There is a general awareness that replumbing and rewiring a property is a large expenditure and fresh new column radiators and brass electrical fixtures show care, even if they are not to your taste.
