The Brief

Modern Renovation in Salmon Lane, East London.

Homes in London can be beautiful and full of character. But sometimes the space just isn’t optimal for modern family life.

That’s why our client in Salmon Lane, East London approached us to fully renovate their home.

The goal was to modernise and increase the functionality of the home, but naturally it was also important to increase the value of the house.

After following our detailed consultation and proposal process, where we advised on the best approach and clearly outlined return on investment for the client, the homeowners took the leap into fully renovating their home.

The client was keen to keep their prime location and avoid the stress and financial loss of moving, so in the end transforming their home was the clear option.

The build

Given a budget of £220,000 to deliver significant renovations and additions to the house, we partnered with East London-based architectural firm, Archea, to ensure we had spot-on designs that would maximise return-on-investment for the client.

As with all of our renovation projects, we provided end-to-end management of the entire process, ensuring consistency with the client brief, and continuity of works throughout. We managed the planning, design, build and finish to produce an exceptional result.

The entire build took around 5 months, even with a significant stumbling block along the way: a shortage of a particular slate that was recommended by the architect. To prevent delays to the project, our team swiftly found an alternative that both the client and architect were more than happy with.

We delivered a sleek, modern and attractive renovation to the house, which provided the client with the additional family space required, and also significantly increased the value of the property.

We were able to make smart adjustments to the construction of the house to optimise space for both living and entertaining – including an additional bedroom. As per the client’s request, we utilised the healthy budget to ensure high-end finishes throughout, adding a premium feel to the property.

Our client was extremely pleased with the end-to-end management of the project; especially our ability to leverage our network of suppliers and relationship with the architect to quickly resolve the issue with the specified slate.

Overall, we were able to deliver exactly what the client needed, both in terms of function and investment, in line with both budget and expectations.
