The Brief

House extension in St Peters Close, East London

This particular client was facing a tough decision: invest in their current property, or take on the stress of moving to a new home.

This is a common point of contention for many homeowners in London due to the ever-changing property market. Moving house is also stressful, and incurs many non-redeemable costs.

After following our detailed consultation and proposal process, our client took the leap into a bespoke extension for their house in St Peters Close, East London.

THE BUILD

Given a budget of £140,000 to deliver significant additions to the house, we partnered with North London-based architectural firm, Vorbild, to ensure we had spot-on designs that would maximise return-on-investment for the client.

As with all of our extension projects, we provided end-to-end management of the entire process, ensuring consistency with the client brief, and continuity of works throughout. We managed the planning, design, build and finish to produce an exceptional result.

The entire build took around 7 months, even with a significant stumbling block along the way: an existing drain running under the property was discovered, and seen to be in poor shape.

We leveraged our network of construction partners and organised for this to be repaired as soon as possible, in order to prevent any delays to the build project.

The result

We delivered a sleek, modern and attractive extension to the house, which provided the client with the additional family space required, and also significantly increased the value of the property.

Extending the house at multiple points created space for an additional bedroom, bathroom and walk-in wardrobe, an extended kitchen, diner, snug, second reception room and office – all of which were finished to the highest standard in line with our clients brief.

Our client was extremely pleased with the end-to-end management of the project; especially navigating around potential show-stoppers.

Overall, we were able to deliver exactly what they needed, both in terms of function and investment, in line with both budget and expectations.
